Anjunadeep

Anjunadeep was launched in 2005 as a sister label to Anjunabeats, designed to provide a home for the slower, deeper, more atmospheric end of Above & Beyond's musical taste — material that didn't fit comfortably alongside the trio's vocal-trance and uplifting work on Anjunabeats. Curated by James Grant alongside the Above & Beyond team, the label has grown over nearly two decades into one of the most influential names in progressive house and melodic techno. The Anjunadeep roster reads like a who's who of modern melodic-electronic music: Lane 8, Ben Böhmer, Yotto, Tinlicker, Eli & Fur, ARTBAT (early), Cubicolor, and many more. The label's annual Anjunadeep Edition compilation series (now well past its 10th volume) and Group Therapy Deep Sundays at Red Rocks have made the label a destination brand. While Anjunadeep is more often classified as house than trance, its emotional sensibility and long-arrangement architecture overlap heavily with progressive trance, and many trance fans have followed Above & Beyond directly into the deeper sound. Anjunadeep is one of the great success stories of the artist-led label movement in modern dance music.
