Biography

Heatbeat is an Argentinian trance and electro-house production project formed in 2006 by Agustin Servente and Matias Chavez, the latter recording under the alias Matias Faint. The Buenos Aires-based duo emerged out of the late-2000s South American trance pipeline that fed into the major Northern-Hemisphere labels, and by 2008 they had landed their first headline catalogue moment with "Paradise Garage" — released through Armada's Soundpiercing imprint and circulated widely across the Armin van Buuren editorial channels that would define the catalogue from that point on. The 2010s built out the project's mainstage profile. The duo placed in DJ Mag's Top 100 at number 81 in 2012, completed their first worldwide tour the same year, and launched their own radio show; the catalogue itself extended through "Ask the Angels", "Rocker Monster", "Chow Mein", "Bloody Moon" and "Cell" before two anchor singles defined the project's mid-period identity — "Game Over" (2013), released through W&W's Mainstage Music in coordination with Armada and lifted onto A State of Trance 2013, and the self-titled "Aerys" (December 2014) on Armada Music Albums. In 2014 the duo were given the prestigious "Trance World, Vol. 17" mix-compilation slot. Three years later, in 2017, Heatbeat launched their own Armada-affiliated imprint Aerys Records as a platform specifically for Argentinian and Latin American producers, with their own "Mechanizer" among the inaugural releases. Within the trance ecosystem Heatbeat sit in the Armada-aligned tech-uplifting lane — closer to the W&W / Mark Sixma / Orjan Nilsen mainstage register than to either the FSOE 138 mainline or the Anjunabeats progressive school. Following Agustin Servente's departure in 2018 the project has continued as Matias Faint's solo vehicle, with the Aerys Records imprint and ongoing Armada release schedule keeping the catalogue active across the late 2010s and into the 2020s.

Sound Style

Energetic, peak-time trance with Latin-American melodic motifs woven into the lead lines — driving 135–138 BPM arrangements, big-room-leaning drop architecture, and the Armada-aligned production polish that has placed the catalogue on A State of Trance and the wider mainstage circuit since the late 2000s.
