John Digweed grew up DJing in Hastings, England, and started recording mixes for Mixmag in the early 90s before partnering with Sasha for the Northern Exposure series. His own catalogue — through Bedrock Records, the Global Underground series, and his Transitions radio show — has run continuously for over thirty years. Digweed was a long-time resident at New York's Twilo (alongside Sasha) and Heaven in London, and his marathon sets are foundational to how progressive house is performed today.
Bedrock Records, founded in 1999, has released hundreds of titles spanning Digweed's progressive-house lineage and the tech-leaning end of the spectrum. Transitions, broadcasting weekly since 2005, remains one of the most respected mix shows in dance music.
Sound Style
Deep, hypnotic progressive house — relentless rhythmic drive, careful long-form arrangement, and a darker tech-leaning palette than Sasha's. His sets often run six hours or more.
