Vini Vici

Vini Vici is the Israeli duo of Aviram Saharai and Matan Kadosh, who began collaborating under the name in 2014. Both members had been active in Israel's psytrance scene for years before forming the project — Saharai as Sesto Sento, Kadosh under various aliases — but it was their work as Vini Vici that broke through to global mainstream attention in a way no psytrance act had before. Their 2015 track "The Tribe" became a global psytrance anthem, but it was the 2017 collaboration with Armin van Buuren and Hilight Tribe, "Great Spirit," that truly transformed their profile. The track became one of the year's biggest dance music records globally, was named track of the year by Beatport's psytrance chart, and topped charts across multiple territories. It was the first time many mainstream EDM and trance fans had heard psytrance at all — and the genre's Tomorrowland and Ultra appearances multiplied accordingly. Subsequent collaborations with Talamasca, Liquid Soul, and Astrix consolidated their position at the top of the psytrance hierarchy. Their Alteza imprint, launched in 2019, has signed the next generation of psytrance and progressive psy talent. They have headlined every major psytrance festival in the world (Universo Paralello, Boom, Ozora) and have crossed over to ASOT events, Tomorrowland's main stages, and Burning Man. Vini Vici's commercial success has not been universally welcomed within the psytrance underground — some purists feel the duo's polished, mainstage-friendly sound betrays the genre's countercultural roots. Whatever side of that debate one falls on, the duo's role in elevating psytrance from a tribal subgenre to a global festival presence is undeniable, and their tracks remain among the most reliable peak-time weapons in any psy-curious DJ's arsenal.
