Bonzai Progressive

Bonzai Progressive was launched in the early 2000s as the progressive-and-tech-trance imprint within the wider Bonzai music group, the Belgian dance-music institution founded in 1992 in Antwerp. The parent Bonzai catalogue had been instrumental in defining late-1990s European trance through artists like Push (M.I.K.E. Push), Yves Deruyter, and Cherrymoon Trax — material that sat at the boundary between hard trance and uplifting and that has kept its cultural weight long after the original release window. Bonzai Progressive emerged to give the slower, deeper, more harmonically patient side of the Bonzai roster a dedicated home. Through the 2000s and 2010s the imprint released compilations and original singles spanning progressive trance, tech-trance, and the European progressive-house adjacent material that the Bonzai sound has historically incorporated. The label remains active as part of the Bonzai Music Group's wider catalogue, alongside Bonzai Records, Bonzai Classics (the reissue arm preserving the 90s catalogue), and other sub-imprints. The Bonzai institutional persistence — three decades and counting — makes Bonzai Progressive one of the longer-running progressive-trance outlets in continuous operation in Europe.
