David Forbes

David Forbes is a Scottish trance producer who has been active since the late 1990s and runs the long-standing Maelstrom Recordings imprint. His early-2000s peak-time tracks including "Questions Must Be Asked" (2003) and "Apache" (2005) became fixtures of the UK trance club circuit, and his catalogue has continued steadily through Discover Records, Black Hole, and most recently Aly & Fila's FSOE Argento sub-imprint. His 2026 release "Diskotek" appears on the Energy mix of the A State of Trance 2026 compilation — a placement that signals his continued relevance to the modern Pure Trance / FSOE-aligned 138 BPM scene more than two decades into his career.
