Biography

Bryan Kearney is one of the leading lights of Ireland's surprisingly vibrant trance scene. Born in Cork in 1986, he came up through Cork's club scene before breaking out internationally in the late 2000s with releases on John O'Callaghan's Subculture label. From the start, his sound was uncompromising — fast, hard, technical 138 BPM trance with little patience for the softer melodic side of the genre. His 2013 track "Goodbye" became a peak-time staple at Subculture and FSOE events worldwide and remains one of the era's defining tech-uplifting records. Later releases like "Pillarmid" and his collaborations with Plumb on "You Are" pushed his sound into more melodic territory while preserving the trademark drive. His Karnage Sessions radio show, founded in 2010, became a flagship for the harder side of modern trance and has hosted guest mixes from virtually every major name in the 138 BPM scene. Kearney's own Kearnage Recordings imprint has hosted releases from Will Atkinson, Mark Sherry, Allen Watts, and other heavyweights of the tech-trance world, helping to keep the harder 138 BPM tradition alive at a time when much of mainstream trance was softening. The annual KARNAGE event series in London and Dublin has become a pilgrimage for fans of the harder sound. He is also a constant presence on FSOE, Subculture, and Coldharbour-aligned events globally — a working DJ in the truest sense, on the road most weekends, delivering peak-time energy with a craftsman's discipline. For listeners drawn to trance's harder, faster, more uncompromising end, Bryan Kearney is one of its most reliable champions.

Sound Style

Hard-edged 138 BPM tech-uplifting trance — driving acid basslines, ferocious leads, and breakdowns built for maximum tension. Productions and DJ sets are unapologetically peak-time.
