Tytanium Recordings

Tytanium Recordings was founded in 2008 by American DJ-producer Sean Tyas as a creative home for his own productions and a curated platform for the harder-uplifting and tech-trance scene around him. Tyas had broken through in 2007 with "Lift" — one of the defining records of late-2000s peak-time uplifting trance — and Tytanium gave him an institutional home outside the major-label system to keep producing material at the BPM and intensity that defined his sound. The label's catalogue has been built primarily around Sean Tyas's own singles and EPs, supplemented by curated work from peers in the harder-uplifting and tech-trance space — Activa, Bjorn Akesson, Heatbeat, James Dymond, and others working at 138+ BPM. The Tytanium Sessions compilation series functions as the label's primary editorial document, and the Tytanium-branded events have hosted nights at Avalon Hollywood, the Pyramid Club, and other US dance venues. Tytanium sits comfortably alongside Subculture, Discover, FSOE, and Outburst as part of the harder-trance institutional axis that has kept the modern 138 BPM sound alive against commercial pressure.
