KhoMha

KhoMha is the recording name of Colombian DJ and producer Robert Alzate, born 1990 in Medellín, Antioquia. His passion for electronic music ignited at fourteen — influenced by Steve Angello, Deadmau5 and Eric Prydz — and his catalogue progressed from progressive house into tech-trance across the late 2000s. High-school friends gave him the stage name on the joke that he put dancers "into a coma" with his music. The catalogue's editorial home from the start has been Markus Schulz's Coldharbour Recordings. Schulz named KhoMha the label's first-ever Artist of the Year in 2011, and both Schulz and Matt Darey separately named him their Producer of the Year that same season — credits that assigned him the official remixes of Schulz's "Sinners" and Matt Darey's "Hold Your Breath". The Coldharbour Red sub-label release "Mind Gamer / The Sky Is Inside You" (19 March 2012) was the catalogue breakthrough, followed by the "Coldharbour presents KhoMha" mix compilation later that year — the first time a non-Schulz artist was given that compilation slot. The catalogue continued through "Hydra" (2013, later used in the 2015 Jason Statham film Wild Card), "Drummer", "Dejavu", "Not The Same", "Artie" and "Tanha" across the 2010s. The November 2022 collaboration with Markus Schulz, "Take Me" (with Adina Butar's vocal), reunited the pair as the fourth installment of Schulz's X collaborative series, and KhoMha has continued as a regular guestmix presence on Schulz's Global DJ Broadcast through the 2020s. Within the trance ecosystem KhoMha occupies a single, well-defined lane: the Coldharbour resident-artist seat at the bassline-driven tech-trance end of the label's catalogue, alongside Davey Asprey and the Schulz-curated core. His sets carry him through the Coldharbour Day events, Schulz-curated Coldharbour stages at Tomorrowland and Transmission, and the Latin-American festival circuit where he remains one of the region's biggest trance exports.
