Darren Porter

Darren Porter is a British DJ and producer from Seaham, near Newcastle upon Tyne. His catalogue runs across the principal uplifting-trance labels of the 2010s — Subculture, Kearnage Recordings, Vandit, FSOE, A State of Trance, Enhanced Music, Monster Tunes, Damaged Records, Blue Soho, and Amsterdam Trance Records — and his releases have repeatedly placed at number one on the Beatport Trance chart across that period. In January 2019 he launched his own digital label Trancegression Recordings, positioned for tech-trance and uplifting-trance artists, and the label has provided a release home for emerging producers in the lineage. His track catalogue is consistently championed on Bryan Kearney's KGM (Kearnage) and John O'Callaghan's Subculture broadcasts, and he has had releases supported by Armin van Buuren, Aly & Fila, and Paul van Dyk across A State of Trance, Future Sound of Egypt, and the wider broadcast network. Beyond release work he operates as a sound designer with the Spire Essentials and Trance Starter Bundle preset packs (the latter co-produced with Sean Tyas), distributed through Freshly Squeezed Samples and Reveal Sound. His Spotify monthly listener base sits around 192K, reflecting an audience built almost entirely on uplifting-trance release work rather than crossover or vocal collaboration. He is currently based in Germany.
